Miriam Peretz

Mariam Peretz is an internationally acclaimed performing artist and dance instructor specializing in dances of the Silk Road (Persian and Central Asian dance), as well as ethno-Contemporary dance. She has been a principle dancer with Inbal Ethnic Dance Theater company (Israel) and Wan Chao Chang dance company (S.F.Bay Area). Miriam is currently assistant artistic director, choreographer and principle dancer for Ballet Afsaneh dance company (S.F. Bay Area). Miriam has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and Central Asia where she studied dance, arts and culture of these regions with master teachers. Additionally, she has trained in Flamenco, Afro-Cuban, Capoeira, and various forms of Contemporary dance. One of her most prominent performances pieces, Miriam’s Well, premiered in 2008 to a sold-out theater. This interfaith collaboration of sacred dance, music and poetry has been performed throughout the Bay Area, most recently at the historic Grace Cathedral of San Francisco. Conscious Dancer Magazine Miriam has been a featured soloist in the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, as well as at festivals throughout Europe and the Middle East. She has performed with many acclaimed master musicians including- Amir Shahsar, Pezhham Akhavass, Abbos Kosimov, Salar Nader, Habib Qaderi, and Sonja Drakulich of Stellamara. As an instructor, Miriam has a reputation as a highly dynamic and inspiring instructor, offering students the opportunity for self-growth, personal healing and intense physical challenge.
